Meeting Schedule
The Planning / Zoning Board meets for Public Hearing once each month on the third (3rd) Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Township Municipal Building, 3 North Maple Avenue, New Gretna, NJ 08224. Please take notice that legal action may be taken during any and all Planning Board meetings.
Applicants who are contemplating a future proposal of their property to be submitted to the Planning / Zoning Board, may take a one time only, no fee, opportunity to describe their project on an informal basis with the Planning / Zoning Board at a meeting. Five to ten minutes are allotted and suggestions are obtained from the Board. The Planning / Zoning Board Secretary should be contacted first in order to be placed on the agenda.
Members
The Planning / Zoning Board consists of volunteer residents appointed by the Mayor who are responsible for preparing the Township Master Plan in compliance with provisions of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL) and who are responsible for reviewing zoning ordinances referred to them by the Mayor & Commissioners.

Applications
Step 1: Submit a Zoning Application Form to see if it is allowed by Bass River Township Ordinance to do what you plan to do. The Township Engineer will approve, or disapprove with reasons.
Step 2: If it is disapproved, but you have reason to pursue permission, submit a Land Use Application Form and go before the Planning Board to seek approval for a Variance.
Step 3: After Bass River Township approval, you MUST get BUILDING PERMITS from Tuckerton Borough Construction Office. We have a Service Sharing Agreement with them to provide construction permits.
5 copies of the Land Use Application, with supporting documentation, must be filed with the Township and must be delivered to the professionals by the applicant for review at least fifteen (15) business days prior to the meeting at which the application is to be considered.
A $75 fee is required with the:
